St. George's Church, Cullercoats, was built by the 6th Duke of Northumberland in 1884, the architect was J L Pearson. This perfectly proportioned Gothic building, stone vaulted and finished with great attention to detail, the tower and spire rise to 180 feet high. The building is matche dto its splendid, if exposed, coastal site. Its architectural perfection is statement of what it stands for - the glory of God - and the worship of the faithful. The furnishings and the hand made kneelers are all part of the offering of praise to God by His people.
