Norfolk House (c.1836)
Architect: John Dobson

Location: Grey Street. Status: Listed Grade II.

A neat design of classical simplicity typical of Dobson. The pavilions enable the building to comfortably step down the hill. Dobson has built in a subtlety of short window pilasters and giant framing pilasters, the latter with Corinthian capitals of stylised acanthus leaves. This block retains its skyline ballustrades, while other buildings further down the street have lost theirs.

Some of the text has been taken from "The Buildings of Grainger Town" by David Lovie.
