The Scotswood Railway Bridge Opened: 1871 - strengthened in 1943. Closed November 1982. Designer/Engineer: Mott, Hay & Anderson. Traffic: Rail. Length: 697 ft (212.6m). Width: 25ft 4in (7.7m). This was a rebuild of a bridge erected in 1839 which burned down in 1860.
