The New Scotswood Bridge Opened: 20th March 1967 by Alderman Peter Renwick. Designer/Engineer: Mott, Hay & Anderson. Contractor: Mitchell, Costain, Kinnear, Moodies Group Ltd. Traffic: Motor vehicles & pedestrian. Length: 455 ft 7in (138.9m). Width: 66ft (20.13m). This replaced an old stone arched bridge.
