The Bruce Building (1896 - 1900)

Location: Percy Street, Newcastle upon Tyne.
As we look up the staircase from the first flight of stairs we can see both the decorative panelling and the ornate, wrought iron banisters. There is a window on the right which reaches the full height and width of the stairwell and incorporates a number of elaborate stained or painted glass panels. Unfortunately an internal, plain glass window has been erected in front for protection and the full beauty of its design is now obscured.
